Everything you need to
understand a network.
The scanner IT pros reach for on Windows, rebuilt natively for the Mac and every Apple device.
Fast, thorough sweeps
Ping and TCP probes run in parallel, so even devices that ignore ping still show up. Scan a range, a subnet or a list.
Names that make sense
Every host is identified by DNS, NetBIOS or Bonjour, so you see “office-nas”, not just another IP address.
Manufacturer & MAC
MAC addresses matched against the official IEEE registry of 58,000+ vendors, so you can spot unknown devices instantly.
Services at a glance
Web interfaces with their page titles, shared folders, Remote Desktop, SSH, VNC, FTP and printers, right under each device.
One-click connect
Open a device's web page, browse its shares in Finder, or launch SSH, Remote Desktop or Screen Sharing straight from the list.
Ping, trace & wake
Built-in ping and traceroute, plus Wake-on-LAN to power up a sleeping PC from anywhere in the house or office.
Favourites & notes
Pin the devices you care about, add notes, and rescan just those to check they're still up.
Export anything
Save results as CSV, HTML or XML for audits, documentation or handing over to a client.
Live as it scans
Devices appear the moment they answer, then fill in names, vendors and services as they're found.

Questions
Which devices and versions does IPScout support?
macOS 14 Sonoma or later (Apple silicon and Intel), iOS and iPadOS 17 or later, tvOS 17 or later, and watchOS 10 or later. The Apple Watch app works alongside the iPhone app.
Why don't I see MAC addresses on iPhone and iPad?
Apple doesn't allow apps on iPhone, iPad and Apple TV to read the network's address table. IPScout still finds every device and its services, and shows MAC and manufacturer for Windows PCs and NAS devices that share it. The Mac app shows MAC and manufacturer for everything.
Will it find devices that block ping?
Usually, yes. IPScout also checks common ports, so a device that ignores ping but runs any service is still found. On the Mac it also checks the network's address table, which catches almost everything else.
Does any of my data leave my device?
No. Scans and results stay on your device. There's no account, no cloud sync and no analytics.
Is it safe to scan a network?
IPScout uses the same everyday checks as any network tool: ping, connecting to common ports, and name lookups. Only scan networks you own or have permission to manage.
