IPScout is built to look at your network, not at you. This page explains exactly what happens to data when you use the app and this website.
The app
- No data collection. IPScout does not collect, store or transmit personal information, scan results, device lists or usage data to us or anyone else.
- Scans stay local. Scans are sent directly from your device to the network you choose to scan. Results, favourites, notes and settings are stored only on your device.
- No accounts, analytics or ads. There is no sign-in, no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs, and no tracking.
- Apple Watch. The watch app receives your favourites and latest results from your own iPhone using Apple's WatchConnectivity. This data travels only between your paired devices.
- Local network permission. On iPhone, iPad and Apple TV, iOS asks for permission to access your local network. This is needed to scan; you can change it any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Local Network.
